About Us

Harmony is a restaurant driven by creation. The freshest seasonal produce, highest quality cuts of meat and some of the finest fish and seafood unite with an unusual degree of culinary spontaneity to provide the most unique dining experience in the Cedar Valley .

Our approach to dining is based on the Law of Diminishing Returns which emphasizes the separate components of a dish combining to create something initially inconceivable. This allows us the opportunity to utilize what is new or fresh on a daily basis. Coursed meals are offered daily and feature the days freshest dishes carefully paired with our ever changing beer and wine selections.

Located in downtown Waverly, Harmony is in the former Brandenburg Jewelry Store. Harmony’s dining room is also a gallery for the works of local artists. From expressionist painting to sculpture, batik, pointillism and pottery, our dining room is a melting pot of the local art scene.

Local farmers play a big role here at Harmony. Iowa’s fertile soil provides produce that our team is ecstatic to work with. Genuine Faux Farms, Bloomin Wooley Acres and several other small independent producers in the area provide a majority of Harmony’s produce.

When you come to Harmony, bring an open mind. We are here to provide you with an exceptional dining experience and beyond all else, a taste of what North East Iowa has to offer agriculturally and creatively.

A meal that reinforces the belief that great ingredients can combine to create something more meaningful, a Harmony of beautiful flavors and textures.

The Chef -

Chef Clint Goodman was born, raised, and began his culinary career in Waverly, Iowa. After meeting the love of his life (and current Harmony pastry chef) Jennifer, they decided to expand their culinary horizons and take jobs away from their home and culinary comfort zones. Jen's interest in sustainable agriculture and her scientific approach to baking were a hit when paired with Clint's technical approach to cooking.

The Iowa Restaurant Association named Clint Chef of the Year in 2006 at the age of 22 for his work at the Cedar Rapids Daniel Arthur's. He was later the executive chef at Cedar Rapids' downtown hotspot, The Chophouse.

To date, Clint has had the honor of preparing meals for the likes of Senator John McCain, President and First Lady Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and he has catered events for Lance Armstrong's "Live Strong" foundation. Clint has also been a guest chef for the Governor's Banquet at Drake University.

Clint, Jennifer, and their three children currently reside once again in Waverly.
